Dr(a). Neenah Estrella-Luna is a researcher, educator, advocate, and consultant specializing in social justice, social relations, and democratic governance. She is an active member of the Massachusetts Advisory Committee for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. A former professor of law & policy and political sociology for 15 years, she left academia to focus on direct impact work. (Despite Google’s claims, she does not work for Northeastern University.)
Dr(a). Estrella-Luna leads research on social resilience, environmental justice, community development, education, and public safety. She collaborates with grassroots organizations, government agencies, and policymakers to create and advocate for equitable policies.
She works with organizations to develop policies and systems that promote equity and inclusion. She also provides learning opportunities for communities to dismantle systemic White supremacy in human relationships and public policy.

With over 20 years in grassroots activism and policy advocacy, she has worked across environmental justice, education, immigrant rights, and civic engagement—leading where needed and supporting when others are closest to the issue.
She has over 15 years of experience as a university professor and mentor, helping scholars grow as educators, researchers, and advocates. She designs learning programs and community-based research to drive anti-racist, equity-centered initiatives.
She builds cross-disciplinary collaborations to develop policies and programs that foster equity, inclusion, and belonging. Using expertise in education, civic engagement, and conflict resolution, she drives change and strengthens organizations for long-term success.
